| LA TRADE |
Mission StatementLA-TRADE is a cooperative effort in the five county area of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura, with the purpose of creating new jobs through the dynamic expansion of exports from the Greater Los Angeles Area. This will be accomplished by combining public and private resources and utilizing advanced technology and know-how to build and sustain a model trade development program. LATRADE is funded by the Economic Development Agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce and with matching funds by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and the local Service Centers. LATRADE represents a new export promotion and international trade program that builds on the region's strength as a world-class business center. The Greater Los Angeles Area has a base of approximately 30,000 manufacturing enterprises, annual exports of over $55.8 billion, a key inter-modal shipping hub for Pacific Rim trade and cutting-edge industries for which world market demand is increasing. LATRADE opens the door of opportunity to capitalize on this base and aims to strengthen it even more. LATRADE is represented by five Service Center partners, strategically located throughout the five county area, staffed with experienced trade counselors.
