Brazil has the largest economy in South America and the United States is the major trading partner. Commerce between the two countries is approximately US $30 billion annually.
Most of the Fortune 500 companies are actively operating in Brazil and the country is the gateway to the Mercosul, the largest common market in South America. The Brazilian government is forecasting a 5% economic expansion for the year 2006.
A group of three State Senators is currently in Brazil to explore partnership opportunities between the two regions in various sectors, specifically technology, energy, agriculture and manufacturing. The “Investment and Trade with Brazil” luncheon will feature a member of the State Senate delegation, local entrepreneurs and the Brazilian General Consulate to discuss the country’s economy, the outcomes of the Senate trip and the best prospects for California enterprises.
Join our panel to discuss current market trends, trade policy, tariffs, safeguards and what small businesses should know in order to succeed in the Brazilian marketplace.
