The Monterey Bay International Trade Association (MBITA) (www.mbita.org), the Silicon Valley Center for International Trade Development (SV CITD) (www.svcitd.org) and the U.S. Commercial Service in Monterey (www.export.gov) cordially invite you to the Santa Cruz Chapter luncheon meeting “Trade Finance and Online Resources.”

Guest speakers

Martin T. Goppelt, of Coface U.S.A. will discuss credit insurance, credit reporting and international debt collection. The benefits to an exporter are increased sales, risk mitigation and improved banking relationships. Formerly employed in the Banking Industry as an International Trade Finance Officer with Comerica Bank, Martin T. Goppelt marketed Letters of Credit, Foreign Exchange, Documentary Collections and EXIM Bank financing. Mr. Goppelt was previously employed in the freight forwarding industry and is a licensed U.S. Customs Broker. Currently, Mr. Goppelt is also President of the Valley International Trade Association (VITA) (www.vitainternational.org) and a Board Member in the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley

Ted S. Eastman and Jim Faith of Trade Export Finance Online (TEFO) (www.tefo.org/index.php) will present the TEFO trade finance organization. TEFO is a managed financial network of banks, lenders and brokers focused on California\'s Small and Mid-sized Enterprise (SME) market. TEFO in partnership with TradePort brings together the international trade strengths of TradePort, the California Trade Partnership (tradeport.org/assistance_centers/index.html), and California\'s trade promotion community, private sector banks and lenders, the U.S. Commercial Service, the U.S. Export-Import Bank (EXIM) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) for the benefit of SME international trade development. MBITA, managers of TradePort.org, is a partner in the Global California program for an online solution designed to connect California trade communities, helping exporters, importers and service providers to reach new markets and expand business opportunities.
Margarise Correa is the Trade Marketing Manager for GlobalCalifornia.org, a regional model for the Silicon Valley and Monterey Bay regions and will speak on how companies can take advantage of this free service that will be coming in late Spring.

GlobalCalifornia.org is funded through the Chancellor’s office of the California Community Colleges, hosted by the Silicon Valley Center for International Trade Development and West Valley College in partnership with the Monterey Bay International Trade Association, the San Jose and Monterey U.S. Export Assistance Centers, the Silicon Valley and Central Coast Small Business Development Centers and the City of San Jose, Office of Economic Development.
