|| The Monterey Bay International Trade Association (MBITA) (http://www.mbita.org), a non-profit public/private partnership dedicated to promoting small to mid-sized businesses in the global marketplace and the Monterey Export Assistance Center (EAC) of the U.S. Department of Commerce (www.usatrade.gov) today announced a special luncheon meeting in Monterey on Friday, October 25th in Marina, CA.
Jose Ramon Gonzalez, Business Development Officer of the Consulate General of Mexico (www.mexico-trade.com)in San Jose, will present a new program on California-Mexico trade offered by the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs along with Bancomex, the Mexican Bank for Foreign Trade, through their commercial office recently established at the General Consulate of Mexico in San Jose. This office promotes trade and investment into Mexico for technology-based industries as well as assists with market research. Currently the program is focused on the development of the Mexican software industry.
Richard Gillis, Director of California-Mexico Trade Assistance Center (CMTAC) (http://www.gavilansbdc.org)at Gavilan College will give an overview of CMTAC services provided by experienced international bilingual consultants provided free or at low cost. Services include market research, support with business practices and norms, identification of suppliers, transportation agents and custom house brokers, as well as logistics support with information on NAFTA documentation and regulatory compliance, industry matchmaking, and developing distributor and representative contacts.
Mark Weaver, Director of the Monterey Export Assistance Center (EAC) of the US Department of Commerce will give a presentation on their current export promotion program for American companies to export to Mexico. This includes trade shows, trade missions and one-on-one pre-qualified meetings.
