Going Global, Working Local: New Forms of Workplace that Work
The world of work is changing and workplace needs are changing with it. Small to medium-sized businesses can take advantage of new options in remote work sites, virtual offices, newly emerging telework centers, work-from-home tools, video-conferencing, web-based conferencing. By using virtual tools, small businesses can develop a large presence simply.
Ms Sprenger will also examine the societal impacts that need to be watched from these changes, both positive and negative.
Barbara Sprenger has started up and run successful businesses focused on innovative technology since the mid-80’s. She took her first small business international, eventually selling it to a Fortune 1000 company, and the capital equipment products are still in production 16 years later. Over the last ten years she has focused on public policy, green technology and environmentally-sensitive development and communities. Her heart and soul is in the direction we can take our neighborhoods and towns with the remote tools of the 21st century: creating a new form of community life in which people work globally while connecting locally.

Jim Graham has 30 years experience as a reporter and high tech public relations professional. He has launched nearly a dozen start ups, is co-founder of Satellite Telework Centers, and is using social media as part of a larger marketing effort to promote the company.

Christopher Lucas is President of IntoWorld®, an international marketing research firm empowering cleantech companies in the global renewable energy technology industry with strategic knowledge, understanding, and “Insights Into World Markets” for cleantech solutions.
Mr. Lucas earned his BA from Dartmouth College and his MBA in Marketing from the University of Colorado. He also studied Internet technologies and computer applications at Columbia University, and global marketing at the University of Economics and Business Administration in Vienna, Austria. Mr. Lucas earned a Certificate in Language Translation at the Language Institute in Munich, Germany, and speaks fluent German.
